Workout Day #9

Well, I did a little over 2 miles. It was tough to get motivated!!!

A Sad Adoption Story

There are many blogs I read daily, yesterday, I was reading one of my regulars.. Kelly's Korner and she had a post about another blog -- The Blevins Family .. she mentioned adoption, so I was right over there. Well, it was a very sad story... the birth parents had changed their mind- after the baby was born - the day it went home with the Blevins family!!! I was in tears!!! Please go and read her story and keep the family in your prayers during this difficult time!!!!

Long time!

Well, one word for the weekend ... BENADRYL!!! I was itching soo much all weekend!!!
Here is a run down...
Movies I watched:

Body of Lies -- ok, so I fell asleep half way into it.
The Way of War -- went to bed during it ... couldn't follow it.
United 93 -- cried my eyes out! The kids watched it with us, was a great history lesson for them.
A Pioneer Home Companion -- wasn't sure why this movie was in my list.. but it was pretty good, heck of a cast!!!
The Last Kiss -- wasn't that good.

Books I am reading:
Lifeguard by James Patterson --> I finished this one yesterday! Of course, James Patterson did not disappoint!! He is such a great author!!

Second Glance by Jodi Picoult --> I am actually listening to the audio book (This is my running book) This is a typical book by Jodi Picoult. I'll let ya know how it is when I finish it.

The Right Stuff by Tom Wolfe --> I am reading this one for my husband. He hates to read and has to read this for a class he is taking. I must say, I started out totally against this book. It is not the type of book I read.. it is classified as History (yuk). I am not too far along in the book, but it isn't all that bad.

Fun Stuff
The weather was really nice on Saturday, so we flew some kites!!!

Evening randomness

Just a few random things....

• I got a blister on my hand from cutting up veggies :(
• I am still itching and took more Benadryl
• Hubby took the kids into town -- right before dinner is ready.. errr
• I think I am going to start another blog... to post recipes
• I will be soo glad when the weekend gets here
• I hate it when I want to crawl in bed only to realize I took the sheets off to wash and didn't put clean ones on the bed~ UUGHHHH
• I don't think I am going to be able to keep my eyes open until Rik and the kids get back from town !

Workout Day # 7

Today I did a little over 3 miles. Again listening to an audiobook. I was naughty and had ice cream this afternoon from Sonic :)

Itchy Allergy!!

Well, last night I was itching horribly.. I took some benadryl and feel asleep -- yea, no more itching!! Or so I thought ... today I had a couple of bites of left overs from last night for lunch while I was waiting on hold. Here came the itching again!!!

After searching the ingredients to everything I ate last night, I think I have it figured out!! I am allergic to sulfa drugs... well, the pickles I used for dinner (which aren't the normal brand I use) seems they have the sulfite preservative, which falls in the sulfa category.

So, I am going to conclude that I am allergic to those pickles. Hopefully tomorrow I won't have the itching, since I plan to stay away from the pickles.

Workout Day #6

Today was day #6.

I was determined today to get some working out in!!! I did 3 miles (on the treadmill). I find it odd that I go longer when I am listening to an audio book than when I listen to music -- Whatever works I guess!!

I am beginning to like the way I feel after I workout. I have more energy and feel more motivated to get things done around the house. I also seem to want to eat healthier foods.

Tuesday !

Today I went into town and ran a couple of errands. I did my grocery shopping at Target.. I totally understand that it is more expensive than Walmart... but it is much more peaceful in Target than Walmart!! I got Long John Silvers for lunch for me and Rik. Rik has to work overnight tonight!

I made Bacon Cheeseburger Spaghetti for dinner ... it wasn't too bad. I wasn't sure what to expect.

I think I am allergic to something... I have been itching like crazy since I started dinner, I took some Benadryl and hopefully will be falling asleep soon and stop itching!!!!

I haven't done any running this week, I just haven't been up to it. I hate having to go into town everyday. I don't plan on going anywhere tomorrow .. unless I get a call for an interview.

Oh, I finished reading Cloud Nine by Luanne Rice tonight. That was a really good book, sad, but good. It is a typical Luanne Rice book. I don't know what I am going to read next... I have a nice stack of books to read.

Teenagers!

So, I get an email from the president of the booster club. It says,

Booster Members,
FYI.... The Jr. High track meet that was on the schedule for today has been changed to tomorrow.

WHAT??? Kaleb is in track ... he didn't tell me anything about a track meet today... !

I text him:
Me: Do you have a track meet tomorrow?
KH: Yes
The end ... that was it.

I don't think he is running anyway cause he hurt his foot jumping huddles (he wasn't doing it the correct way).

Weekend Review

I am soo sorry for not posting all weekend. I wish I could say we had a busy weekend, but in fact, it was a pretty boring weekend... a nice lazy weekend.

Friday -- Rik broke off half of his cap on his tooth so came home early and went to the dentist. He picked up lunch at this new little resturant in town.... it was soo good ... they had fried okra !!!! YUM YUM ! Shelby had a friend stay the night... we had pizza for dinner. I watched the movie, The Jane Austen Book Club ... it was really good. I didn't get to bed until around 1am -- I admit I was talking to a friend on Facebook.

Saturday -- <>We got up early because our neighbor rented an airrator for the yard and it had to be returned by noon. The temperature outside was near freezing, and I was turning on the sprinklers. We had to wet the yard before running the machine over the yard. We finished just in time to take the machine back. Rik and Kaleb went into town to pick up a few things. We had fried fish for dinner... it was SOOO GOOD. We watched some movies .. of course. We watched, the newest The Chronicals of Narnia and then watched Get Smart after we ate dinner. I stayed up late and watched Blood Monkey on SciFi. ( I love SciFi .. they have such stupid movies!)

Sunday-- I slept in. Hayley decided she was going to give me a massage... with lotion ... well, the lotion ended up being soap!! so I had to get up and take a shower, only to find out there was NO HOT WATER! We have been having a problem with out water heater and the button popping (i don't know what the button is called!) So, I staying in my jammies all day!! We watched the movie Sex Drive .. interesting!!! I made Chicken A La King for dinner and we had angle food cake. Went to be fairly early and was still tired getting up this morning.

Workout Day #5

2 1/2 miles ... it was really hard to get motivated to do it!!! I wasn't feeling really good, but decided I haven't done any kind of exercise in a few days, I had better do something. The funny thing is I was only going to do a mile, but I was listening to an audio book and just kept going and going.

Dinner took longer than I planned to make, so I didn't get to take Delphi for her afternoon walk.

Is this a hint???

This is my daughter's computer... it is a Dell ... me and my oldest have Mac's .... I am thinking she wants one too .... LOL

Mammy

My mammogram went well today.. it wasn't as bad as I had heard it would be!!

I think I am catching a cold or something ... I feel horrible today, I was up alot last night with a sore throat. Today is has mostly been a sinus headache.

I had all kinds of plans for things I was going to post on the blog today, but I just want to go to bed!! But, I am waiting for a call from Shelby to come get him from school.. they had something tonight.

I haven't heard anything from the library about the job I applied for .. I think I will call them tomorrow ... to bug them a little more.

Days End

I sit here at my new MacBook with toothpicks holding my eyelids open!! I am soo sleepy, but refuse to go to bed until I reformat my old Macbook so I can start putting the stuff on it for Shelby tomorrow.

Me and Shelby now have pretty much matching MacBook's ... sooo, when I got my new one today, I had to make sure we could tell them apart, so I bought a pink hard case for mine :) -- I will post a picture tomorrow!

Today's workout was well ... for the fingers! I didn't run or walk today.. mostly because I was too caught up in the computer world, but also for female reasons ( I will not expand on that) I plan on doing something tomorrow.

Tomorrow will be a fun day -- I have my mammogram... my first one!!

To the Apple store I go...

I am headed to the Apple store today to get my new MacBook. Shelby will be happy to have a computer to himself again.... LOL
